Eytri is a heavy damping puck (“palet presseur” in French) to be placed on the rooftop of your hifi electronics. Resonating chassis induce microphony from surrounding context (air and resonating furniture). See Daedale feet for more information on this effect.
Effects are quickly audible
– Bass extension – Details in low spectrum / low medium – Pacified trebles ; more details – less harshness
Design
Eytri is a combination from Daedale design, including a thermopastic mix with carbon fiber to transform vibrations in small heat, with dense metal damping along with some vibrations absorber.
Dimensions
Diameter : 60mm Height : 22mm Weight : 250g
Usage
Place on vibrating surfaces, like rooftop of CD players, preamplifiers, amplifiers…
You can rotate it to hide or expose the logo at your convenience (see pictures below).
For max efficiency, placing it on corners goes even further than a single in the center. Keep in mind that all chassis is naturally resonating (responding to surrounding sonic waves), and corners are a meeting point for 3 surfaces… thus enduring much perturbations there.
Advice of use
Due to its inner metal composition, it is advised not to use it as a damping feature on PCB (perturbating electromagnetic flows around circuitry, Foucault effects) : use Geysirs or Maskhals instead.
Etymology
Eytri is a dwarf from Norse mythology, being a master blackmith. He’s mostly famous for having forged Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir. This hammer is so heavy, that only his master can wield it.
New design
Eytri shown above in this page (logo on the side) is the second iteration of our design.
“Old” version – here on the left – had its logo on the top. Following feedbacks we updated the design to provide some discretion option (rotate to show or hide logo). Same efficiency, though.
